If you’re using an integrated graphics card from Intel, remember that computer manufacturers usually modify drivers to limit or expand their functionalities to operate smoothly on their devices.

Is DriverEasy a virus?

I would recommend uninstalling Drivereasy from your computer. Drivereasy is not technically malware but it is an unwanted program. Although it is not a virus it may have installed some unwanted components on your computer including adware that is commonly bundled with free software.

In general, we don’t recommend updating hardware drivers unless you have a reason to. The driver for the SD card reader that came built into your computer is probably just fine. Even if the manufacturer does offer a slightly newer version, you probably won’t notice the difference. There’s no reason to obsess about having the latest hardware drivers for every component in your computer.

Do I need to update chipset drivers?

Before we get into the actual steps to update our drivers, a word about why we’re speaking primarily about Windows here. Because Apple uses their Mac operating system on all their computers, you’ll find that you don’t need to update drivers beyond the system software update. Windows can be run on many different computers (Dell, Gateway, HP, etc.), which means that hardware has to communicate in a singular way with each computer. Thus, the need to update drivers more specifically and regularly. If HP does not make the products you are installing, you might be able to find drivers and software downloads from the original manufacturer’s website.
